Personnel safety is always the primary consideration of ADCO Ltd. and will not be compromised.
It is the policy of ADCO to comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Health and Safety Executive Northern Ireland (HSENI), and other relevant legislation within its areas of operations, and to provide and maintain a healthy and safe working environment. ADCO’s safety objective is to minimize the number of instances of accidents and illnesses and ultimately to achieve an accident-free work environment.
ADCO recognizes and accepts its duty to protect the health and safety of all personnel, including contractors and temporary workers, in addition to any members of the public who might be affected by its operations.
While the management of ADCO will do all that is within its powers to ensure the health and safety of its personnel, it is recognized that health and safety at work is the responsibility of each and every individual associated with the company. It is the duty of each person employed by the company to take reasonable care of their own and other people’s welfare and to report any situation that may pose a threat to the well-being of any other person.
The management of ADCO will provide every employee not suitably qualified or experienced, with the training necessary to carry out their tasks safely. However, if an employee is unsure how to perform a certain task or feels it would be dangerous to perform a specific job, then it is the employee’s duty to report
this to the Diving Supervisor (Site Safety Officer) or Site Director (Site Safety Representative). An effective health and safety programme requires continuous communication between workers at all levels. It is therefore every worker’s responsibility to report immediately any situation which could jeopardize the
well-being of themselves or any other person.
All injuries, however small, sustained by a diver or non-diver must be reported to the Diving Supervisor and to the Site Director. Accident records are crucial to the effective monitoring and revision of the policy and must therefore be accurate and comprehensive.
Employees have a duty to take all reasonable steps to preserve and protect the health and safety of themselves and all other people affected by the operations of the company.
